A micro-enterprise refers to a small business typically started with
little capital and usually involving less than five employees. Because
micro-enterprises normally do not have access to commercial banking,
they require "micro-loans" or micro-credit to operate. Across Borders
helps connect the entrepreneurs in the field with micro-finance
institutions and private donors. The idea is all the same, to empower
people with the proper tools and financial support needed to build a
successful sustainable business. By empowering others, we can break
the cycle of poverty. We combine education, financing and mentoring
to create sustainable income-generating businesses throughout the
developing world.
